Who can become a member of the QRSTA?

There are two possible types of membership depending on the nature of the organization.

Active member: Any legally constituted organization actively involved in welcoming visitors and pilgrims and offering them an experience of a religious or spiritual nature in Quebec can become an active member.  

Active members have access to many advantages and services:

  • Training and networking activities
  • A statistical portrait of the members and the sector
  • A newsletter
  • Online visibility (in English and French)
  • The right to vote at the Annual General Assembly
  • An optional commercialization program aimed at English-speaking markets in the U.S. and Canada

Non-exhaustive list of types of active members:

  • National shrines
  • Basilicas, churches, temples, monasteries and other places of worship
  • Cemeteries
  • Sites of pilgrimage and spiritual retreat
  • First Nations' religious and spiritual sites
  • Museums and sites that highlight sacred art or explore a religious or spiritual theme
  • Events or circuits of a religious or spiritual nature
  • Lodging establishments
  • Travel agencies and tour operators that offer services to travellers interested in religious or spiritual tourism

Associate member: Any organization or association interested in the promotion, development and fostering of religious or spiritual tourism in Quebec (for example regional tourism associations) can become an associate member.
