Abbaye Cisterienne du Val Notre-Dame

Val Notre-Dame Abbey

Founded in 1881, Val Notre-Dame Abbey, previously in Oka, has 20 monks who pray 7 times a day in the chapel of the monastery. All can participate in these times of prayer, the guests who stay in the hotel as well as visitors passing. Monks provide for their needs by offering various products in their store or online: chocolates, nut butters, caramels, cakes and edible forest products. The store offers a wide range of local Lanaudière products and religious items. A gift shop’s room hosts exhibitions in the summer and turns into a cross-country ski center in the winter. Forest products training and forestry cooking classes take place in the store area.
